  Administrator

  Michelle has been working at Bandon Dental since 2010 as a Dental Assistant after having received her diploma from UCC. Having lived in Bandon for more than 30 years she is well known and liked by every patient and will go out of her way to help. She has a keen interest in Pediatric Dentistry and loves to see children and young people coming into the practice. As well as assisting Michelle also spends a lot of her working time administrating and in reception.

  Clare

  Dental Nurse

  Clare joined our team at Bandon Dental in 2000 after qualifying as a dental nurse in 1999 at Cork University Dental Hospital. She enjoys all aspects of dentistry, especially Crown and Bridge work.

  Margo

  Dental Nurse

  Margo is another one of our dedicated dental nurses and has been with Bandon Dental for 3 years. Her welcoming smile helps put our patients at ease during their visit. In her spare time Margo loves cycling, pilates and is a member of two book clubs

  Mary

  Dental Nurse

  A Clonakilty native now living in Innishannon, Mary has worked in a number of Dental Practices and joined the team in Banon Dental in 2014. She has a keen interest in GAA and is a mentor with her local football club, Valley Rovers. Her hobbies include walking, cycling and set dancing.

  Dr. Aileen Crowley

  Dentist

  Aileen qualified with honours from UCC in 2005. Prior to this she studied science at NUIG. Aileen completed her Dental vocational training in Somerset in 2006 and spent the following ten years working in a busy dental practice in Kilkenny City. During this time Aileen completed a cosmetic Dentistry and Aesthetic Restorative Dentistry course in London and an Implant course in Belfast. Aileen moved home to Cork in 2016 and has since been working in Bandon Dental. Sge focuses on providing a high standard of clinical care to her patients in a friendly and comfortable environment. Aileen is committed to continuous programmed development and was recently awarded a Diploma of Primary care Dentistry by the Royal College of Surgeons, Ireland and is currently studying for her membership exams. Outside of practice, Aileen is an avid swimmer and generally enjoys life.

  Dr. Aileen Donovan

  Dentist

  Since qualifying as a dentist at University College Cork , Aileen has worked in private practice in Galway, Dublin and Cork. She is a member of the Irish Dental Association and regularly attends continuing professional development courses. She has been awarded membership of the Faculty of Dentistry of the Royal College of Surgeon (MFDS-RCSI) and is a clinical tutor at the Cork University Dental School and Hospital.

  Bridget Murphy

  Dental Hygienist

  Bridget is a registered Dental Hygienist who qualified with a first class honours in the Diploma in Dental Hygiene from UCC IN 2022. During her studies she received the Colm O'Sullivan Gold Medal and the sensodyne award. She also received the Braun-Oral B award for best project for her final exam. She enjoys yoga and pilates in her spare time.

  Dr. Caroline O Dwyer

  Orthodontist

  Dr. Caroline O’Dwyer is a specialist orthodontist with over 10 years of dental experience, qualifying as a dentist from University College Cork in 2012. During her time there she received many awards for her clinical and academic achievements, most notably the Orthodontic Society of Ireland Medal for her results in final year. Upon graduating, Caroline was then selected for General Professional Training with the Northern Ireland Medical and Dental Training Agency. Caroline has also worked as a Senior House officer in Maxillo-facial surgery in the Ulster Hospital, and as a Senior House officer in oral surgery in the Dublin Dental University Hospital, in Trinity College Dublin. After developing a passion for straightening teeth, Caroline completed her specialist training in orthodontics. This involved three years training on a full time course in the dental hospital in Cork’s CUH. Caroline was awarded her Clinical Doctorate in Orthodontics from University College Cork (Hons) and Membership in Orthodontics from the Orthodontic Society of Ireland.

  Deirdre Dunne

  Dental Hygienist and Practice Principal

  Deirdre has over 20 years’ experience in the dental industry. Starting as a dental nurse in 2002, she qualified with a Diploma from University College Cork in 2004. She spent the next 11 years working in a well-established practice in Cork and taking on the role of practice manager, overseeing the smooth operation of a 5 surgery general practice that also specialised in implants, veneers, lumineers, orthodontics, crowns and dentures as well as fillers and Botox. In 2015 Deirdre took a career break and in 2016 she went back into education securing an Honours Diploma in Dental Hygiene from University College Cork in 2018. With this she secured many opportunities such as Dental Hygiene roles in Apple Wellness Centre, Hollyhill and Bandon Dental. An opportunity arose in 2021 to purchase Bandon Dental and given Deirdre’s vast experience it was a natural, progressive step in her career. Deirdre has developed extensive knowledge of policy’s and procedures over her 20 years in the industry and has a keen interest in learning, developing and updating on an ongoing basis.

  Dr. Jenny Coughlan

  Jenny grew up in Cork and attended dental school in UCC. She completed her dental degree in 2004 and was awarded with the Medical Protection Prize. Following graduation, she worked in Suffolk for two years before returning home to Ireland. During her time in the UK, she completed further postgraduate professional development courses including Aesthetic Dentistry in London. She joined Bandon Dental Practice in 2006 and has since enjoyed playing her part in providing the variety of general dentistry that this family practice delivers. She has been nominated for the IDA Colgate Sensitive Dentist of the Year Award and has been awarded with a Diploma of Primary Care Dentistry and a Membership of the Faculty of Dentistry by Royal College of Surgeons Ireland. She currently holds a clinical tutor position in Cork University Dental School and Hospital and has completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education in UCC.

  Dr. Patricia Ryan

  Tricias dental career started out as a Dental Hygienist qualifying from Trinity in 2006. After spending 5 years in private practice she returned to Dublin to study Dentistry in 2011. Tricia enjoys all aspects of dentistry and continues to doi regular CPD to keep up with the latest techniques and information. In her spare time she enjoys long walks, the gym and going to rugby and hurling matches.
