Have you got crooked or overcrowded teeth that you would like to fix? Back in the early 2000s, braces would have been the only option people had. However, nowadays, braces aren’t the most practical or comfortable option. Thanks to clear orthodontic treatments like Invisalign, we have a new solution. Offering a more flexible approach to orthodontics, this revolutionary treatment can help correct overcrowding, and gaps in teeth and help restore your smile. And the great news is that Invisalign prices can be reasonable.

At Bandon Dental, we’ve been helping patients across County Cork get the smile they deserve since Invisalign has been on the market. Our team can talk you through all the Invisalign options available to you, creating a personalised plan that will deliver the perfect smile you’ve always dreamed of.

What is Invisalign?

Invisalign is an innovative alternative to traditional orthodontics treatment. Suitable for all ages, these clear aligners can help you achieve a straighter smile, without having to depend on invasive braces with uncomfortable metal wires. Made from patented thermoplastic, Invisalign aligners are incredibly comfortable and almost invisible. These aligners are shaped to the unique contours of your teeth and move, with a new tray fitted once every few weeks. This way, your teeth are gently straightened over time.

Unlike conventional braces, you’re free to remove Invisalign aligners when you need to. This makes eating more comfortable and ensures disruption to your everyday routine. “Invisalign is also better for your oral health, allowing you to brush and floss daily with no restrictions,” said Deirdre Dunne, a dental hygienist at Bandon Dental. “Furthermore, you don’t have to worry about the harmful plaque build-up that’s often experienced if wearing regular braces.”

Who is Invisalign for?

All treatment plans are created for each individual. Invisalign can be used to treat more serious issues like an underbite, overbite or crossbite. Invisalign pricing can vary depending on the scope of the treatment, with most patients needing to wear aligners for a minimum of 6 months.

All of our Invisalign treatments are by specialist orthodontists and the starting prices are €3000.

Benefits of Invisalign

A Flexible Orthodontics Solution

Unlike traditional orthodontics, Invisalign aligners can be removed at any time. When it’s time to eat, simply remove your trays and tuck in. No foods are off-limits.

A Comfortable Choice

As they’re made from medical-grade thermoplastic material and feature no sharp edges, Invisalign trays are incredibly comfortable. What’s more, they’re uniquely adapted to the contours of your mouth and teeth.

Improved Oral Hygiene

As Invisalign trays can be readily removed, you’ll have no issues keeping on top of flossing and brushing. This prevents plaque build-up, ensuring maximum dental hygiene and optimal oral health.

Less Time-Intensive Than Other Options

Invisalign aligners need less attention than standard orthodontics, saving you several trips to your local dentist in Cork.

Barely Visible

Invisalign trays are almost invisible, with none of the wires or brackets of conventional braces. These transparent aligners will preserve your natural smile as your teeth are gently repositioned over time.

Is Invisalign Tax Deductible?

All orthodontic treatment is tax deductible and you may be entitled to partial tax relief. You can claim back as much as 20% of the cost of your treatment.

As well as being able to claim tax relief on any personal treatment plans, you’re also eligible to claim tax relief if you’ve paid for treatment for someone else. This can include spouses, children, and dependents. To access these savings, you’ll need to claim at the end of the calendar year. However, the claim window for claiming back tax relief is 4 years.

The dentist that carried out your treatment should provide you with a Med 2 form that serves as a receipt for any dental expenses that you’ve incurred. While you won’t have to send this form to Revenue, you’ll need to keep hold of your records for a minimum of 6 years. Revenue may ask for these records at any time.
